The Late Bloomer Actor
Off Script: A New York Christmas
Text The Late Bloomer Actor a Question or Comment.
Stepping into the holiday-lit streets of New York City, the air buzzing with the kind of magic only the Big Apple can conjure, I found myself awash with the spirit of Christmas and dreams larger than the Empire State. As the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree illuminated the night, guiding my family's festive pilgrimage through this urban wonderland, I captured these moments to share with you—dancing across Broadway, scaling the heights of the iconic skyscraper, and reliving movie history at the Ghostbusters firehouse.
This episode is my heartfelt holiday card to you, filled with the enchantment of the city that pulses with aspirations. From the astounding 'Back to the Future' musical—where dreams materialize on stage—to the panoramic embrace of the Empire State Building's peak, and the legendary Ghostbusters' abode, join me in a celebration of passion for acting, podcasting, and the pursuit of dreams. Let the rhythm of New York City's streets, the echo of sirens, and the whispers of yuletide joy envelop you in this special Christmas Day release, as we remember together that amidst the sparkle of the season, our dreams are always within reach.

Hi everyone. The following Offscript episode was initially recorded with the intention of it being a separate podcast to the Late Bloomer Actor podcast. However, in hindsight, I believe it better accompanies the messaging of my show by being part of the primary podcast and, as such, I'm now including my Offscript episodes within the Late Bloomer Actor show. So please excuse any referencing in this recording of it being a separate podcast and I hope you enjoy the Offscript format which will, I believe, enhance and contribute to the monthly primary episodes. Cheers and I'll see you on set. Hey everyone, merry Christmas. This is an episode from the late bloomer actor Offscript coming out Christmas Day around the world, and I'm coming to you live from New York City, as you can see in the background. I love New York City and we're just going to walk a little bit here because in the background you can see the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree, iconic of New York, iconic of New York. So we're here with my family at the moment. So I've been doing a couple of recordings just while I'm on my trip in the United States, currently doing our eight nights in New York over Christmas, leaving Boxing Day. So I wanted to get the episodes out, so they're going to be very, very quick. I'm going to put a couple of snippets together. But we went and saw Back to the Future the musical at Broadway last night our one and only Broadway show that we've been able to see. So it was absolutely fantastic. Some brilliant actors in there. It just, you know, you sort of think at the moment first thing you think about it the Back to the Future musical well, that's going to be cheesy. No, this guys was absolutely fantastic. It was absolutely fantastic. And, as you can see, you've got some New York City police cars in the background, which they're everywhere. So I want to stretch this out a little bit. So you've got a little bit to listen to and I'll get a better view of the Christmas tree for you in a second. But what I wanted to say in relation to the Back to the Future musical was these guys on stage were absolutely brilliant and the actor playing Marty McFly he put in so much of an effort. He actually sounded just like the original Marty McFly, so from the movie and the stage show and everything about it was just absolutely fantastic. And it comes back to everything that I've said in these videos and the previous episode is your dreams can come true, and you've got to keep persevering and keep pushing through, because you never know when that door is going to open. And it's about finding moments like this, taking trips and doing stuff. That's so different. This is a family trip, but it's also something that is inspiring me to continue my acting journey and to continue with the podcast and sharing information and everything for you. Hey, everyone, it's the late bloomer actor here.
David John Clark:Just a quick snippet, coming from the top of the Empire State Building in New York, new York, where all your dreams can come true. Give you a bit of a view here before we chat. For those watching on YouTube, it's downstairs. Before we came up, just got to watch a bit of a view here before we chat. For those watching on YouTube, it's downstairs. Before we came up, just got to watch a video of all the movies that have been made from the top of the Empire State Building. So it was pretty fantastic. There was so many that I actually didn't realize had been filmed here from all the years since the Empire State Building was made.
David John Clark:So just a it's a thing to realize make your dreams come true. It's been very um, just a. It's a thing to um realize make your dreams come true. Um, it's been, uh, very good up here. It's damn cold, as you can tell. I've got my beanie on and my face is probably looking a bit frozen. So, um, just um, having a ball in new york and seeing all the sights, and there's so much um that I can attribute to the podcast.
David John Clark:So, so I just wanted to quickly put something together, which I'll put a couple of snippets together for the Christmas Day release. Not that you have to listen on Christmas Day, of course, but it'll be there for you. So, thank you very much, coming to you from the top of the Empire State Building, with some sirens in the background which never stop in the city that never sleeps. So, thank you very much and we'll talk again in a minute. Cheers, guys, hey guys, just another quick one. The light blue marina coming to you live from the Ghostbusters warehouse in New York. New York, yes, the firehouse. Another iconic movie scene. Another reason for you to keep up with your dreams and keep going. You can make it. It Movies are made every day, all the time, and you'll love it. I've got to get back on the bus, so a nice quick one. Add this to the Christmas Day podcast. Lovely work. Guys, see you on set. Coming to you from the Grand Central Station, new York Pretty impressive. This is great. New York, pretty impressive, this is great.
David John Clark:It's about getting out, finding new locations and inspiring you to continue on your acting journey, and doing trips like this is what it's all about Meeting new people and experiencing new places, especially places like New York, where there's a lot of acting. So that's what we're here to do and that's what I'm sharing with you today. So thank you very much. Coming to you from the Grand Central Station, all these people and we're not even catching a train Cheers.
David John Clark:Another quick snippet for you guys, coming from the deck of the Intrepid, will Smith was hitting golf balls in the book of I Am Legend. I almost got my movie wrong, but so there you go. I am legend was filmed right here on the deck of the Intrepid in New York. If you can recognize that car park down there, that's where the golf balls were hitting. So just before he saw the deer running. So this is cool, certainly an iconic spot that I wanted to see. So here we are on the deck of the Intrepid, new York City Absolutely fantastic.
David John Clark:I'm really sorry for all the guys that are just listening to the podcast because obviously you're not seeing any of this, but check it out on YouTube. You'll be able to see it all, of course. Oh, and there's some New York sound for you, with the Christmas tree in the background. I wish you a Merry Christmas. It's Christmas Day today.
David John Clark:As the episode releases, it's Christmas Eve here in New York. It's actually Christmas Day in Australia. It's just hit after midnight in my hometown, adelaide. So I've got to spend a whole day doing what we're doing and hopefully get enough time to put these together and get it out at 7 o'clock tonight Australian time, midnight American time tonight. So it's a Christmas Day release.
David John Clark:So thank you very much for listening, guys. I'm going to bring out another episode on New Year's Day. I'll actually be in Roswell, new Mexico. How's that? We do things a little bit differently our family, so we'll be spending New Year's Eve at Roswell Aliens and everything else. So that just leads into a whole world of storytelling and alien attacks, et cetera, et cetera, and another journey for us actors.
David John Clark:So thank you very much, guys. I hope I haven't annoyed you too much with my wonderful trip here but having an absolute ball in New York. It is so busy and there are so many people, but it's been absolutely brilliant. Lots of walking over 20,000 steps every day, so eating a little bit of food, but I'm certainly walking it off. So thank you very much for listening. We'll see you next week on New Year's Day. So that's 2024 for you everybody Looking forward to the journey with you next year. And thank you for listening and we will talk to the journey with you next year. And, uh, thank you for listening and we will talk to you next week. See you on set.
