The Late Bloomer Actor
Off Script: New Year's Day Insights from Roswell, New Mexico
Text The Late Bloomer Actor a Question or Comment.
Navigating the frostbitten streets of Roswell, New Mexico, I couldn't help but muse on the past year's journey and the promise of the new one ahead. As the clock ticked over to 2024, my son's battle with the flu and the closed doors of Roswell's famed attractions couldn't dampen the spirit of anticipation for what's to come. In this Offscript special, woven with the essence of the Late Bloomer Actor podcast, I take a solitary stroll through personal anecdotes and professional aspirations, reflecting on the unexpected narratives life throws at us and the fertile grounds for creativity that places like Roswell and Area 51 offer to actors and writers alike.
This episode stands as an unguarded moment of gratitude and a teaser for the richer Offscript series to come, promising insight into the business of acting, IMDb intricacies, and the universality of storytelling that binds us all. No guests join me this time; just an honest conversation with you, our listeners, about the road we've traversed and the excitement for the episodes ahead. Keep your ears perked for the return of the Late Bloomer Actor's main episodes on January 15th, and until then, revel in this New Year's message, a shared toast to a year brimming with potential for all creatives. Remember to hit that like and subscribe button, and let's raise the roof for this growing community. Cheers to a Happy New Year, and whether I bump into you on set or in the realm of imagination, here's to a spectacular 2024!

Hi everyone. The following Offscript episode was initially recorded with the intention of it being a separate podcast to the Late Bloomer Actor podcast. However, in hindsight, I believe it better accompanies the messaging of my show by being part of the primary podcast and, as such, I'm now including my Offscript episodes within the Late Bloomer Actor show. So please excuse any referencing in this recording of it being a separate podcast and I hope you enjoy the Offscript format which will, I believe, enhance and contribute to the monthly primary episodes. Cheers and I'll see you on set. Happy New Year, welcome to 2024.
David John Clark:This is The Late Bloomer Actor coming to you, live from Roswell, new Mexico, and in the background, yes, we have a downed spacecraft Well, not really and a couple of trick-a-sees here. Tricks, trinkets, trinkets. It's so cold here I can't even speak, but just walking down the main street of Roswell, it's the 31st of December 2023 for me, but for most of my Australian listeners they've already hit the new year and the rest of the world is coming in as we speak. So I did say I wanted to get an episode out for New Year's Day and we're only just going to get it in. We had a couple of delays on our trip. Unfortunately, my son's come down with a bit of influenza and hopefully I'm not coming down with it as well because I'm the driver, so they need me. He's doing it pretty tough. We had to hold up in Albuquerque when we arrived on the aeroplane and find a medical centre on New Year's Eve and then get some drugs for him. So the poor kid's holed up in bed and missing all this. But yeah, unfortunately it delayed our trip into Roswell and everything's closed and due to timings, we have to leave early in the morning so we're not going to get to see what we wanted. But, as I said, I wanted to bring this episode out and sort of recap what happened for 2023. Recap what happened for 2023.
David John Clark:As you know, the Late Bloomer Actor podcast itself has been changed to 10 episodes a year. So I finished up in October but I decided I wanted to bring out this weekly off-script series just to talk a bit of random nonsense. But coming into the new year, I'm going to make this a little bit more formal and go through and talk some more acting stuff the business side of acting and IMDb and having all your profiles, et cetera, et cetera and getting a couple of guests just to talk some random stuff, that storytelling is universal, universal, yeah, and Roswell and Area 51, which I hope to see tomorrow on our drive Tomorrow or the next day, I can't remember exactly when we get up towards Las Vegas has brought out plenty of movies and is a great area for storytelling and a great thing for actors. So keep that in mind as you go into 2024. If you're an actor or a writer, that there are plenty of opportunities and plenty of stories and always will be. So I'm not going to keep on rambling here.
David John Clark:Thank you very much for everything for the 2023. And I wish you all the best going into 2024. Some of you are already there already and I think it's going to be a very, very good year, coming out of the pandemic and the strike actions all finished and everything like that. So hopefully it's going to be a good year for everyone around the world and good luck with you and your journey as an actor. So thank you very much for tuning in and I look forward to sharing the journey with you in 2024.
David John Clark:And the Late Bloomer Actor podcast itself the main one will be back on the 15th of January with a great episode there that I've already pre-recorded, so it's ready to go. So please feel free to leave a message, anything you'd like to talk about in the new year, and make sure you like and subscribe, share amongst your friends, as they say, because, um, we're still getting off the ground with this one, so the listeners are coming in um, but I've got a great list of base for the main podcast. So thank you very much, guys, and happy new year and all the best for 2024. I'll see you on set, or maybe I won't.
